2016 Winners

The orchestra would like to announce results of its 1st Annual Young Artist Competition.  Many factors were considered in the decision including appropriateness of repertoire, programming concerns for the orchestra, and skill of performer. Additionally, the judges chose to include an Encouragement Award for an outstanding young performer between the ages of 11-17.

Placements are as follows:

Grand Prize Winner – Brendan Elliott
Runner Up – Sterling Elliott
Honorable Mention – Andrew Leobolt
Encouragement Award – Ava Shedd

Adjudication forms with judge scores, scoring explanation, and comments will be scanned and emailed to competitors and their teachers over the coming week.

The HRP’s 2017 Young Artist Competition will be November 5th. Additional details and registration information will be posted online when available.

The HRP is dedicated to promoting the local performing arts, and our goal moving forward is to continue to build a valuable, high-quality competition that will serve our community for years to come.
