Young Artist Competition
2018 Results

The orchestra would like to announce the following results for the 3rd Annual 2018 Young Artist Competition. This year’s competition provided an afternoon of exceptional performances and close competition.

After a lengthy and difficult deliberation, the judges awarded one Grand Prize, one Second Place, and three honorable mentions. Honorable mentions are not awarded in any order, but rather designate performers that overall stood out as strong performers. All competitors awarded placements below showed the preparation, skill, and performance needed to perform with the orchestra.

No separate Encouragement Award placement was given to a younger performer this year as the age range was comparatively narrow and the competition was very close across all competitors.

Thank you to all competitors, teachers, parents, and accompanists who participated this year. We’re so excited to continue growing this competition as a valuable educational experience to young performers throughout our community.

Grand Prize
Ava Shedd, violinist

Second Place
Maggie Jordan, violinist

Honorable Mentions
Mary High, flutist
Eden Crumbly, violinist
Kaylah Walker, violinist
